Job summary

Altec is seeking a Mechanical Design Drafter to perform routine design tasks, creating models and drawings derived from layouts. You will update CAD drawings, set up parts, and maintain ERP records while collaborating with engineers on design standards.

Strong verbal and written communication is essential, as is the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Some travel may be required as part of project support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four year applicable degree or two year applicable degree.
• Mechanical Design Certificate (Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate) meets requirement.
• Two years drafting experience.
• 3D CAD experience preferred for mechanical drafting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take direction.

Responsibilities

• Creates and updates basic and routine CAD drawings; part setup and ERP maintenance.
• Consults with engineers/technical experts on design solutions and standards.
• Follows established specifications to prepare models and drawings.
• All other duties as assigned.
