Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Mechanical Designer to create precise 3D CAD drawings and detailed fabrication drawings. You will collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring schedules and technical challenges are communicated effectively.

The role requires proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD Plant 3D, with Revit experience considered an asset. CSWP is preferred, and independent work with minimal guidance is expected in a dynamic, federal contractor environment.

Qualifications

• College diploma, associate, bachelor’s degree or 5+ years CAD drafting/design or equivalent experience, with use of SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD Plant 3D
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS Routing and Weldments add-ins
• Strong knowledge of drafting standards and practices

Responsibilities

• Generate accurate 3D CAD drawings [70%]
• Produce 2D fabrication, spool drawings and generate bills of materials for fabrication [30%]
• Work within a multi-discipline team and proactively communicate on schedule and technical challenges [100%]
