Footbridge Federal in Massachusetts is seeking a seasoned mechanical design engineer to develop 3D CAD models for enclosures, optical assemblies, and precision mechanisms, and to design packaging for electronics and thermal systems across aerospace and maritime environments.

Competenze

• Active Secret security clearance (an interim clearance is acceptable to start).

• Coordinate the fabrication, alignment, and environmental testing of prototype components.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs meet structural, thermal, and operational requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance (an interim clearance is acceptable to start).
• 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design using CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA).
• Proven experience designing complex mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and mechanisms.
• Familiarity with standard fabrication techniques, including machining and sheet metal manufacturing.
• Basic understanding of structural and thermal analysis principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialized experience in opto-mechanical design and EO/IR (electro-optical/infrared) systems.
• Familiarity with military standards (mil-specs) and ruggedized components.
