Job summary

Black & Veatch offers an opportunity for a VDDS Associate Engineering Technician to develop high-quality engineering deliverables for infrastructure projects. You will work with CAD, BIM tools and collaborate on site development tasks under supervision.

Preferred candidates hold a diploma/certificate with 2+ years of related experience, and may access flexible work options after onboarding. This role supports complex civil projects and design teams across markets.

Qualifications

Diploma or Certificate required.
Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
Onboarding requirements may include background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Supports engineering teams under general supervision.
Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling).
Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
Begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
Stay current on applicable standards, BV policies and procedures.
