Job summary

Hoffman-Construction in Boise, Idaho, seeks a CAD/Modeling Tech Intern to support the VDC team on active projects. This in-person role partners with field personnel to apply laser scanning, BIM, and 3D modeling workflows, providing hands-on, real‑world experience linked to classroom learning.

You will assist with point cloud processing, data registration, and creating maps and models in Revit, Civil 3D, and Cyclone, plus basic renders for marketing and project visualization.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in Surveying or Geomatics.
• Experience with point cloud processing and reality capture software.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and project visualization.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and archive point cloud files from field project team members.
• Compile, register and publish point cloud data using Leica Register 360.
• Interpret point clouds, construction documents, and survey data to develop 2D and 3D maps and models using Revit, Civil 3D, Cyclone.
• Verify point cloud and model accuracy to survey control.
• Create conceptual models, visualizations, photorealistic renders, fly‑throughs for marketing purposes.
• Collaborate with VDC team members on project deliverables and develop professional skills.
