Job summary

Hoffman Layout and Modeling is seeking a CAD/Modeling Tech Intern to support VDC initiatives on active construction projects. The role provides hands-on experience with laser scanning, point cloud processing, BIM, and 3D modeling under the VDC Team.

You will work closely with field teams to interpret data from Revit, Civil 3D, and Cyclone, ensuring model accuracy and contributing to marketing materials and conceptual renders for project proposals.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Geomatics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and archive point cloud files from field project team members.
• Compile, register and publish point cloud data using Leica Register 360.
• Interpret point clouds, construction documents, and other survey data sources to create accurate 2D and 3D maps and models using Revit, Civil 3D, and Cyclone software.
• Verify point cloud and model accuracy to survey control.
• Create conceptual models, photorealistic renders, fly-throughs, and other material to assist in marketing ventures.
