Job summary

Hoffman Construction Company is seeking a CAD/Modeling TechIntern to support the VDC team on active projects in Boise. The role offers hands-on work with laser scanning, point cloud processing, BIM, and 3D modeling on-site, pairing classroom learning with real-world project tasks.

You will work with the VDC team and field personnel to apply industry-leading software and workflows, gaining practical experience while contributing to project documentation and marketing materials.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Geomatics.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, processing, and archiving point cloud files.
• Assist in interpreting data to develop 2D/3D maps and models with Revit, Civil 3D, Cyclone.
• Participate in quality control to verify accuracy against survey control.
• Collaborate with VDC team on project deliverables and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and archive point cloud files from field teams.
• Compile, register, and publish point cloud data using Leica Register 360.
• Create 2D/3D maps and models using Revit, Civil 3D, Cyclone.
• Verify point cloud and model accuracy against survey control.
• Assist in creating conceptual models, renders, and fly-throughs for projects.
