Job Description:

Schedule: 19.75 hours per week, in person on Wednesdays and Thursdays

Compensation: $27.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, preparation, and facilitation of sparc! programs and events.
  • Attend weekly sparc! team meetings and weekly CACP staff meetings.
  • Assist with planning and facilitating weekly sparc! team meetings.
  • Prepare materials, supplies, and other resources needed for sparc! events and activities.
  • Research and order art materials and program supplies in collaboration with the sparc! Program Manager for upcoming events.
  • Assist with event setup, breakdown, and on-site coordination as needed.
  • Support the translation of sparc! program materials and communications from English to Spanish, as needed.
  • Work with the sparc! Program Manager to support the student team during office hours by providing guidance, assisting with projects and tasks, and helping maintain an organized, collaborative workspace.
  • Develop relationships with sparc! community partners and support engagement with partners through special events and programs.
  • Act as an ambassador for sparc! the ArtMobile and MassArt's Center for Art and Community Partnerships (CACP), sharing information about programs, resources, and opportunities with community partners and participants.
  • Collaborate with staff to complete additional program-related tasks that arise during the contract period.

  • Experience working collaboratively with people of all ages and stages
  • Experience working inRoxbury, Mission Hill, Dorchester, and other neighborhoods of Boston
  • Strong communication skills and punctuality
  • Experience creating and leading art-making workshops
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Portuguese Creole is a plus
