Job summary

Children's Hunger Alliance in Northwest Ohio is seeking a CACFP Program Specialist to support and expand the Child and Adult Care Food Program. You will train childcare centers and home providers, ensure compliance, and provide ongoing support that helps children access nutritious meals.

The role requires travel across Northwest Ohio, on-site monitoring, technical assistance, reviewing documentation, and preparing regular reports. You will stay current on USDA, ODE, and CHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 2+ years of relevant experience in nutrition, early childhood education, or related field.
• Knowledge of CACFP regulations and USDA guidelines.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to travel frequently within Northwest Ohio.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and train childcare centers and family childcare providers participating in CACFP.
• Conduct on-site monitoring reviews and in-home provider visits.
• Provide technical assistance to ensure program compliance.
• Review and process monthly claims and disallowances.
• Train providers and staff on systems such as Minute Menu.
• Conduct outreach activities and increase community awareness of CACFP.
• Maintain organized electronic files and documentation for each provider.
• Build and maintain community partnerships to expand program reach.
• Stay current on USDA, ODE, and CHA regulations and requirements.
• Prepare and submit weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports.
• Support development of program materials and training resources.
• Participate in regional, state, and team meetings.
• Follow Ohio laws related to reporting suspected child abuse or neglect.
