Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking technicians for a contract assignment based in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This posting covers 3x Tech 2 (24-28/hr) and 2x Tech 1 (24-25/hr), with all work performed onsite.

You will help build out infrastructure by pulling cable and fiber, learning color codes, and terminating fiber; duties include installing cable trays and building server racks. You must complete timesheets and other paperwork on schedule, while following safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience with pulling fiber and copper cabling in data center environments.
• Ability to learn and apply color codes and termination procedures.
• Familiarity with installing cable trays and assembling server racks.

Responsibilities

• Pull cable down walls and route through data centers.
• Terminate low-voltage devices and connect signaling and power cabling.
• Follow prints and wire routing diagrams for correct length and labeling.
• Complete timesheets, material transfers, work orders, and change orders on time.
• Adhere to company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards.

3x Tech 2 (24-28/hr)

2x Tech 1 (24-25/hr)

Teams will be building out the infrastructure to include: pulling cable, pulling fiber, learning color codes, learning how to punch down and terminate fiber, installing cable trays and pathways, and build server racks. More than likely Tech’s will start our installing cable tray’s and building the server racks.

1. Drop cable down a wall using fish tape or other method. Route cable through data center. Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables and determine length, slack and label cables. Suspend and support cable correctly: Cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, Bridal rings, Trapeze.
2. Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
3. Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, pull cable through sleeves and core penetration.
4. Terminate low-voltage devices.
5. Follow prints.
6. Fully complete all paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
7. Adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
8. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 – $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
