We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Cable Extrusion Machine Operator to specialize in the production of drop cables and join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in machine setup, operation, and process management, including shaping thermoplastics, braiding cables, and assembling conductor groups into final products, ensuring adherence to precise specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, quality control measures, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced fiber optic manufacturing environment. The position involves interpreting blueprints and diagrams to select and position machines, as well as determining procedures for equipment setup and functionality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Cable coating experience
• 3 years of previous experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar manufacturing role (preferred)
• 1-3 years experience processing cable raw materials through various production operations using construction sheets, machine setup sheets, and other procedures
• Proficiency in monitoring equipment and cable during operation to ensure quality, using testing equipment to evaluate cable performance
• Familiarity with safety, environmental, and quality control standards and practices, and ability to follow all procedures
• Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills for internal and external interactions at all levels
• Willingness to learn programming techniques related to machine operation
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while meeting production deadlines
• Strong organizational skills
• Mechanical background knowledge
• Ability to detect faulty operations and defective materials
• Knowledge of Electric City systems (a plus)
• Machinist certification (a plus)
