Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.

We have an immediate direct hire opportunity for a CNC Machine Operator III at our manufacturing plant in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The CNC Machine Operator III is responsible for setting up, loading, and operating CNC equipment, including grinders, lathes, and machining centers. This role requires reading and interpreting programs, making precise adjustments, and setting tool registers, offsets, and compensations to ensure optimal performance. Successful candidates are self-motivated team players with a strong aptitude for computers and mechanical systems.

Job Responsibilities

1. Inspects parts visually before running machines
2. Sets up machines per work instructions
3. Makes minor adjustments to programs, such as work offsets, program stops, etc.
4. Sets up gauge heads for high tolerance sizing
5. Inspects parts per process sheets
6. Adjusts machine to ensure accuracy
7. Dresses grinding wheels and changes diamonds when needed
8. Deburrs completed parts
9. Works to very close tolerances using digital micrometers and dial indicators
10. Performs daily preventative maintenance
11. Interprets and uses Vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges
12. Works within micron tolerances

Required Experience

• 7 years of experience operating CNC machining equipment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience with pneumatic and manual hand tools
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
• Valid driver’s license maintained throughout employment

Job Requirements

• Ability to pass drug screening and criminal background check
• Willingness to use PPE and travel up to 25% domestically and internationally

Physical Requirements

• Reaching, lifting, carrying up to 15-25 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Constant standing, walking, sitting; occasional climbing, kneeling
• Must be able to hear, see alarms, and wear PPE
