Qualifications

• 3–5 years in cable assembly or electronics manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Assemble cable assemblies and wire harnesses per drawings and work instructions.
• Cut, strip, crimp, solder, terminate, and route wires using hand tools and equipment.
• Perform continuity and functional testing with multimeters and testers.
• Inspect finished assemblies for workmanship and conformance to specs.
• Maintain safety and 5S housekeeping; report defects and issues.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Cable Assembler Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Union City, CA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented manufacturing professional with experience assembling, testing, inspecting, and repairing cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electromechanical components. The Cable Assembler Technician will work in a quality-focused electronics manufacturing environment where accuracy, safety, teamwork, and production efficiency are essential. Key Responsibilities

• Assemble cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and related electromechanical components according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Cut, strip, crimp, solder, terminate, and route wires and cables using hand tools, soldering equipment, heat guns, and specialized assembly equipment.
• Perform continuity, resistance, and functional testing using multimeters, continuity testers, and related electrical test equipment.
• Inspect completed assemblies for workmanship, accuracy, quality compliance, and conformance to customer specifications.
• Identify and report defects, discrepancies, non-conforming materials, or process issues to support quality and production goals.
• Maintain accurate production documentation, follow ESD and safety procedures, and keep the work area clean and organized using 5S practices.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $30.00 to $37.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Assemble, test, inspect, and repair cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electromechanical components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
• Use crimpers, wire strippers, soldering irons, heat guns, multimeters, continuity testers, and related production tools.
• Support daily production schedules while maintaining quality, documentation accuracy, and safety standards.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in cable assembly, wire harness assembly, electronics manufacturing, or a related production environment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to follow detailed engineering drawings, schematics, routing instructions, and quality requirements.
• Experience with wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, termination, and cable assembly processes.
• Basic knowledge of electrical testing equipment, including multimeters and continuity testers.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills, teamwork mindset, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting.
• Ability to follow company safety procedures, ESD protocols, and manufacturing best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification.
• IPC-A-610 Certification.
• Experience working in military, aerospace, medical device, OEM, electronics, components, or semiconductor manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S practices, continuous improvement, and quality-driven production processes.
