Aerotek is seeking a Cable and Wire Harness Assembler in Fairfield/Clifton, NJ, to assemble harnesses under customer specifications in a climate-controlled production area. The role involves interpreting drawings, crimping, wrapping, and testing assemblies, with a Monday to Friday schedule and overtime as needed.

This is a contract-to-hire position onsite in New Jersey. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Title: Cable and Wire Harness Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling cable and wire harnesses in a climate-controlled production environment, following detailed customer specifications. You will interpret drawings and blueprints, perform precise cable and wire assembly operations, and ensure all assemblies meet quality standards. The position operates on a MondayFriday, first-shift schedule with overtime as needed, supporting a mix of aerospace, defense, and commercial customers.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and follow detailed drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to complete cable and wire harness assemblies accurately.


• Wrap, crimp, strip, and shield wires using cable strippers, crimpers, wrappers, and related tools to fabricate assemblies according to customer requirements.


• Identify and verify all parts and materials for each assembly, ensuring the correct components are used and reporting any missing parts or discrepancies promptly.


• Inspect completed work to verify quality, functionality, and compliance with specifications, and perform repairs and rework as required.


• Conduct tests on units and assemblies as needed, documenting results in accordance with specifications and internal procedures.


• Follow bill of material (BOM) requirements to ensure assemblies are built exactly to customer design and standards.


• Maintain a strong focus on quality over quantity while meeting production deadlines in a small to medium order environment.


• Collaborate with team members across departments, contributing to a cooperative environment where individuals support multiple tasks to complete customer orders.


• Adhere to all safety, quality, and process guidelines while working with cable assembly tools and equipment.


• Support new customer projects and assembly work performed at customer facilities as needed, ensuring consistent quality and documentation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clifton, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
