Job summary

Polaris Inc. is seeking a design engineer to lead the development of vehicle systems from concept to production. You will create requirements, collaborate with architects, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams, and ensure performance, quality, cost, and timing objectives are met.

You will own subsystem plans, support validation, and guide manufacturing strategies across the product lifecycle while driving innovation and design quality for Polaris Powersports vehicles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of design engineering experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software; Creo experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with FEA tools and Windchill PLM is preferred.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, dimensional tolerance analysis, and fit‑and‑finish evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain subsystem and component requirements, specifications, DFMEAs, and DVPRs.
• Design and develop components, mechanisms, and assemblies that meet safety, quality, timing, and cost objectives.
• Lead supplier reviews and collaborate on development and improvement of products.
• Own subsystem development plans from concept through purchasing, manufacturing, and production release.
• Support validation activities and manufacturing strategies for subsystem variants throughout the product lifecycle.
• Evaluate and recommend manufacturing methods that optimize design performance, quality, and cost.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, suppliers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.
• Create engineering drawings and ensure timely release of design documentation.
• Lead design reviews and analyze field issues to implement corrective actions.
