Job summary

Polaris Industries in Novi, MI is seeking a seasoned Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of structural systems for Powersports vehicles. You will own components from concept through production, coordinating with architects, suppliers, and operations to meet performance, cost, and timing goals.

The role requires BIW experience, Creo proficiency, FEA tools, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of design or systems engineering experience.
• Experience with stamping, metal joining, and structural component design.
• BIW experience preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling; Creo preferred.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
• Windchill Product Lifecycle Management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and fit-and-finish.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Willingness to travel 15–25% for Novi, MI and nearby locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and validation of structural components from concept to production.
• Ensure designs meet safety, quality, reliability, timing, and cost objectives.
• Create and maintain component specs, DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs.
• Own and manage structural development plans across lifecycle stages.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and operations for robust solutions.
• Lead design reviews and investigate field or production issues for root causes.
