Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Controller with strong Professional Services accounting experience to lead our CAAS practice. This in-office role partners with client teams to oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic finance.

You will guide internal controls, financial planning, and regulatory reporting, and mentor staff, with CPA preferred but not required and 7+ years in public or professional services accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7 years of relevant accounting or financial experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
• Travel to client sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal control policies for budgeting, cash management, and accounting.
• Direct financial planning, budgeting, procurements, and investment activities.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for regulatory agencies.
• Evaluate funding needs and investment of surpluses.
• Monitor KPIs and supervise accounting staff.
• Advise management on financial objectives and policies.
• Communicate with boards, bankers, investors, and others; prep board materials.
