Job summary

WestEd is seeking an Authorized Coach to support the CA Teaching Pyramid modules across California. The role involves training and reflective coaching for childcare providers online and at designated sites, with up to 20% travel within the state.

The position requires CA Teaching Pyramid Coach authorization, a High School diploma (Bachelor’s or Master’s in Early Childhood Education preferred), and at least three years in early learning.

Qualifications

• Authorized CA Teaching Pyramid Coach.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Three+ years of experience in early learning and care.
• Experience training or coaching adults and teams.

Responsibilities

• Co-train the CA Teaching Pyramid Modules virtually or in person.
• Provide CA Teaching Pyramid coaching to assigned sites.
• Make three to five visits to assigned programs during a training cycle.
• Each visit includes a one-hour program observation and a one-hour reflective meeting.
• Facilitate Reflective Practice Cadres for a small group of coaches.
• Communicate regularly with the CA Teaching Pyramid trainers.
• Create a positive environment using adult learning strategies.
• Submit paperwork accurately and on time.
• Develop and maintain communication with WestEd staff and partner agencies.
• May travel up to 20% to designated sites.
