Anduril Industries in Waltham, MA seeks a Systems Safety Engineer to join our Battlespace Awareness C2 software team. You will own end-to-end safety for C2 software, sensors, effectors, and autonomous platforms, ensuring rigorously validated safety across diverse configurations and missions.

The role requires MIL-STD-882E experience, hazard analyses, and evidence packages for government reviews. You will develop test plans, validation artifacts, and data-driven analyses to support safety

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience applying MIL-STD-882 across a defense program lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and multiple hazard analyses.
• Requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification/validation fluency.
• Experience collaborating with DoD program offices and safety review processes.

Responsabilités

• Own systems safety end-to-end for C2 software and interfaces to sensors, effectors, and autonomous platforms.
• Lead safety requirements gathering, decomposition, and traceability across cross-functional teams.
• Validate that our systems are safe via performance-characterization campaigns and field data.
• Apply MIL-STD-882E and related safety standards.
• Conduct and document FHA, FTA, FMEA/FMECA, PHA, SSA, and CCA analyses.
• Characterize software-driven safety performance and translate results into risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop tests, acceptance criteria, and analysis tools for safety evaluation.
• Integrate safety early in the development lifecycle with algorithm and software teams.
• Develop and apply modeling/simulation frameworks for safety-critical algorithmic validation.
