Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a lead software developer to drive a Navy system project. You will build and maintain frontend interfaces and backend services using C# and ASP.NET, backed by SQL databases, while guiding a team across related applications.

You will work on Windows with potential Linux tasks, apply DoD Information Assurance policies, and contribute to development lifecycle improvements.

Qualifications

• Requires DoD Top Secret clearance and US citizenship.
• Experience with SQL Server and Windows Active Directory using LDAP.
• Familiarity with static analyzers (e.g., Fortify) is a plus.
• Experience in Agile/DevOps/DevSecOps environments is a strong plus.
• Coding in compliance with DoD IA policies is required.

• Serve as the lead developer for a major Navy system


• Maintain frontend web interfaces and backend services using C# and ASP.NET, backed by Microsoft SQL databases


• Maintain a group of related applications


• Track deficiency reports, user feedback, and new feature requests and implement related changes


• Develop strategies and tools to improve efficiencies in the development lifecycle


• Define, assign, and track priorities to deliver results aligned with customer strategic objectives


• Perform software development and coding with C# on Windows platforms


• Perform software development and coding with C++ on Windows platforms


• Perform ASP.NET web frontend development


• Potentially perform software development and coding on Linux/Unix platforms


• Design, develop, and document software development methodologies


• Use Bash scripting on Linux/Unix systems


• Code in compliance with current DoD Information Assurance policies and instructions

Requirements

• US Citizenship


• Currently possess and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Level Security Clearance


• Experience with SQL Server and Windows Active Directory using LDAP


• Experience with static analyzers, such as Fortify, is a plus


• Experience in a software development methodology (e.g., Agile, DevOps/DevSecOps) environment is a strong plus


• Knowledge of coding in compliance with current DOD Information Assurance policies


• Strong customer relations, documentation, and oral communication skills


• Self-motivation, a strong work ethic, and commitment to quality


• A passion for learning about, and working in the IT industry


• BS Degree in Computer Science or similar


• 8+ years’ experience working with a wide range of IT products


• 5+ years of C# software development experience


• 3+ years’ experience with Linux (Red Hat preferred)


• CompTIA Security+ CE certification or equivalent


• C++ development experience is a plus


• Experience with Navy tactical messaging networks is a plus


• Knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies is a plus


• Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification is a plus
