Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a Software Engineer for the Drone Stack team to design and integrate complex autonomy and vehicle intelligence systems across hardware and software domains. You will deploy autonomy algorithms in SIL, HIL and live test environments, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions for defense and commercial customers.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Robotics, Computer Science or related engineering field.
  • 3+ years hands-on robotics systems experience (hardware, software, integration).
  • Experience with C++ and robotic product integration with Pixhawk autopilots (ArduPilot/PX4).
  • Experience with communication buses: UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI/QSPI, I2C, Ethernet.
  • Experience in Docker and Linux-based OS.
  • Familiarity with SIL/HIL and real-time software.
  • Willingness to travel 10–20% for on-site integration.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and integrate autonomy and vehicle intelligence systems spanning hardware and software.
  • Deploy autonomy algorithms in SIL, HIL and live test environments.
  • Troubleshoot integration and software issues for high reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with autonomy engineers for hardware-software integration with aircraft autopilots and sensors.
  • Support live flight tests on UAVs and vendor integrations.
