Job summary

Amentum is seeking software engineering professionals to support Naval projects in Dahlgren, Virginia. This on-site role focuses on C/C++ software development and integration with an agile team.

You will work with a Senior Amentum developer, applying your C/C++ skills to modernize Navy systems. Candidates should have up to 10 years of experience and hold a Secret clearance with U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• 0–10 years of experience in software development or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and engineers.
• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Must maintain REAL ID driver’s license and have reliable transportation for local travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate C/C++ software for Naval projects and programs.
• Contribute to SLBM weapon system software development efforts.
• Collaborate with a senior developer within an Agile framework.
• Apply C/C++ expertise to software development activities.
• Analyze and solve engineering problems independently and in teams.
