Job summary

FlightSafety International is seeking an experienced Pilot Instructor to manage ground-based training for C-17 pilots. You will instruct, assess progress, and maintain currency across simulator and aircraft platforms, including WST and CBT devices.

The role requires extensive aviation experience and clear communication with trainee crews. You will participate in program administration, policy updates, and safety oversight, with travel as needed and a strong emphasis on operational excellence in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Eight (8) years flying experience, five (5) years as a C-17 pilot with air drop and aerial refueling experience, or able to obtain AMC/A3TK waiver.
• Two (2) years or 200 hours of flight instructor experience in air drop, aerial refueling, and tactics.
• Active SECRET Security Clearance desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ground-based training for C-17 TS pilots using WST, C-17 aircraft, CBT and other simulators.
• Maintain subject matter expertise and deliver high-quality instruction.
• Provide briefings, debriefings and counseling to pilots and support staff to improve proficiency.
• Perform training administration, progress tracking and documentation.
• Contribute to courseware updates and training policy changes.
• Fly the WST and aircraft as needed to sustain instructional proficiency.
• Serve as SME for students, staff, and events; step in as FCA when assigned.
