Job summary

FlightSafety International invites applications for a C-17 Pilot Instructor to lead ground-based training of C-17 pilots using the TS curriculum and multiple training devices. The role requires experience as a C-17 pilot with air drop and aerial refueling proficiency and active security clearance.

The instructor will conduct briefs/debriefs, maintain instructional standards, and support program development, evaluation, and safety responsibilities at Learning Centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Eight (8) years flying experience, five as a C-17 pilot with air drop and aerial refueling experience, or able to obtain an AMC/A3TK waiver.
• Two (2) years or 200 hours of flight instructor experience in air drop, aerial refueling, and tactics.
• Recent C-17 flight simulator instructor experience and CATS MECOC certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Conducts training using devices such as the Weapon System Trainer, C-17 aircraft, CBTs, and other ground training for all C-17 TS pilots in air drop, aerial refueling procedures.
• Maintains a high level of subject knowledge, instruction capability, and expertise.
• Conducts briefings and debriefings and counsels pilots and Maintenance Engine Run personnel for proficiency.
• Performs administrative duties: interfacing with user organization, record keeping, monitoring progress, counseling, and training development.
• Provides inputs for courseware corrections and updates training policies and procedures.
• Flies the WST as required to maintain instructional expertise; flies on the airplane in observer status.
• Serves as C-17 Pilot SME for students, staff, and test events; acts as FCA lead when assigned.
• Attends HQ curriculum reviews and instructor meetings; supports safety, security, and Stan/Eval activities.
