Job summary

FlightSafety International is seeking an experienced C-17 Pilot Instructor to lead ground-based training for C-17 pilots in the defined Training System curriculum. You will instruct with WST, CBT, and actual aircraft, monitor progress, and mentor students and staff to maintain high proficiency.

The role requires 8 years flying, including 5 years as a C-17 pilot with air drop and aerial refueling, plus 2 years of flight instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8 years flying experience; 5 years as a C-17 pilot with air drop and aerial refueling.
• 2 years or 200 hours of flight instructor experience in air drop, aerial refueling, and tactics.
• Recent C-17 flight simulator pilot instructor experience and CATS MECOC certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ground-based training for C-17 TS pilots in air drop and refueling procedures.
• Instruct using devices like WST, CBT, and actual aircraft to measure progress.
• Maintain subject matter expertise and deliver briefings/debriefings for pilots and staff.
• Handle administrative duties: records, progress tracking, and training program updates.
• Provide input for courseware corrections andUpdates to training policies.
• Fly the WST as needed to maintain instructional expertise and currency.
• Serve as SME for students, personnel, and test events; mentor FCA and evaluators.
