Job summary

FlightSafety International in Charleston, SC is seeking an experienced Pilot Instructor to lead ground-based training for C‑17 pilots, using WST, CBTs and live flight sessions. You will maintain proficiency, conduct briefings, debriefings and track student progress in a structured TS curriculum.

The position requires eight years of flying with significant C‑17 experience, plus recent simulator instructor credentials.

Qualifications

• Fluent English reading, writing and speaking.
• Eight years flying experience, five as a C-17 pilot with air drop and aerial refueling experience or able to obtain AMC/A3TK waiver.
• Two years or 200 hours flight instructor experience in air drop, aerial refueling and tactics.
• Recent C-17 flight simulator instructor experience and CATS MECOC certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Conducts ground-based and live training for C-17 TS pilots using WST, C-17 aircraft, CBTs and other devices.
• Maintains subject matter expertise and training proficiency; leads briefings and debriefings for pilots and maintenance personnel.
• Performs administrative duties: record keeping, tracking progress, training development and policy updates.
