Job summary

CAE USA Inc. in Altus, OK seeks a C-17 Formal Training Unit (FTU) Manager to oversee all FTU operations, lead instructors and staff, and ensure contract compliance with USAF and CLS requirements.

You will manage training schedules, safety standards, and staff development while coordinating with government representatives and site leadership. A strong leadership and aviation background is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum four (4) years of flight operations and/or flight training management experience.
  • Minimum eight (8) years total flying experience, including five (5) years military experience, with at least two (2) years as a flight instructor and within training management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word.
  • Ability to effectively deliver oral presentations to management and customers.
  • Ability to work independently while directing subordinate staff.
  • Ability to work overtime and adapt to varying shift schedules as required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee FTU operations and supervise instructors, maintenance staff, and site administrator.
  • Serve as liaison between Government PO/QAR and CAE USA Program Manager.
  • Coordinate with CORs and Government CLS Project Officer on FTU activities.
  • Ensure full contract compliance and maintain relationships with USAF and stakeholders.
  • Oversee submission of device utilization/maintenance/status, throughput reports, and contract deliverables.
  • Establish and maintain robust safety and security standards.
  • Plan and participate in conferences and reviews with USAF customers.
  • Ensure annual student throughput and contracted ATD/academic training requirements.
  • Manage execution of annual, monthly, and weekly training schedules.
  • Provide oversight of training programs for site personnel and resources.
  • Observe and evaluate instructor performance in academic and device environments.
  • Manage site's quality assurance program to AS9100D standards.
