Bournewood Health Systems in Massachusetts is seeking an Intake Coordinator to manage admissions to the partial hospital program. You will triage potential patients, conduct interviews with clients and families, verify benefits, obtain authorizations, and handle billing in collaboration with the Program Manager.

The role requires excellent communication and customer service, strong Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to assess hospital needs through conversation with referral sources.

• Prior intake or administrative experience preferred.

The Intake Coordinator handles intake, billing, and receptionist responsibilities for the program, as well as providing administrative assistance to the Program Manager as needed.Essential Job Functions:• Facilitates admissions to the partial hospital by interacting with potential patients and performing triage, assessment, and intake procedures.• Interviews prospective clients and their families to collect additional clinical history and to provide information.• Verifies insurance benefits, gets authorizations for levels of care, and handles billing.• Communicates with other individuals and departments within the hospital structure to facilitate admissions.• Maintains census by coordinating successful admissions to inpatient programs.• Any other duties as assigned by supervisorEssential Competencies:• Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills.• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel)• Ability to assess a client’s hospital needs through conversation with referral source.• Understanding of mental illness, common diagnoses and behaviors.• Ability to maintain a calm and respectful demeanor when handling difficult people or situations.
