Job summary

The Structures Company is seeking a Buyer/Procurement Analyst in Lexington, KY to manage material movement from planning to delivery. You will work with engineering and production to determine requirements and ensure cradle-to-grave procurement processes are followed.

Candidates should have strong data analysis skills, cost optimization experience, and proficiency with Excel including V-lookups. This is a contract position with potential extension and benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Source, plan, and schedule movement of materials through production and inventory.

• Analyze data to determine factors affecting prices and lowest cost while meeting schedules.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, and engineering to ensure procurement needs.
• Support invoicing and accounts payable, and advance vendor relations.

Summary:

• Sources, plans, and schedules movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through production and inventory processes.

• Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.

• Ensures all materials move through the procurement process (cradle to grave) without issue.

• Plans and coordinates material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.

• Analyzes data to determine factors affecting prices and identifies lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.

• Analyzes back log data, resolves procurement blockages or constraints, and coordinates with functional areas and outside vendors to resolve issues.

• Reviews proposals, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders, approves payment, and maintains records of material movement.

• Coordinates with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.

• Serves as primary GSC planning point of contact for assigned programs, supporting product team, schedule, configuration control, program kick-off, and program assessment meetings.

• Manages material delivery timelines, expedites status, supports invoicing and accounts payable problem resolution, and advances vendor or supplier relations.

Requirements:

• Active Secret Security Clearance required to start.

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Excel knowledge including V-lookups and data analysis.

• Flexibility to work across extremely different areas or programs, balancing competing urgent needs.

• Time management, planning, and multi-tasking skills to support multiple areas with urgent competing needs.

• Problem solving and investigating skills for issues with no standard operating procedure or pre-determined solution.

• Experience with procurement process from cradle to grave.

• Experience analyzing data to determine factors affecting prices and lowest cost.

• Experience reviewing proposals, selecting suppliers, and maintaining material movement records.

• Experience coordinating with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel.

• Experience managing material delivery timelines and expediting status.
