Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Procurement Analyst to support procurement planning, material management, supplier coordination, and program execution in Lexington, KY.
The selected candidate will serve as the primary GSC (Global Supply Chain) planning point of contact for an assigned program area. This position requires strong procurement knowledge, advanced Excel skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support procurement activities from initial requirements through material delivery and final resolution.
- Identify and coordinate material, component, service, and supplier requirements based on engineering and production schedules.
- Monitor purchase orders, supplier commitments, material delivery dates, and procurement status.
- Identify critical and urgent procurement requirements and communicate priorities to appropriate teams.
- Expedite material and resolve procurement delays, shortages, constraints, and supplier issues.
- Support both front-end procurement planning and back-end procurement execution.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Logistics, Receiving, Finance, Accounts Payable, and Suppliers to resolve issues.
- Serve as the primary GSC point of contact for assigned programs and support program meetings, assessments, kickoffs, and schedule reviews.
- Prepare leadership presentations and performance reports using real-time team data.
- Maintain and analyze multiple Excel-based reports and procurement metrics.
- Support invoice and accounts payable issue resolution with Buyers and functional teams.
- Review supplier performance and support vendor/supplier relationship management.
- Investigate and resolve complex procurement and material issues, including situations without established procedures or predefined solutions.
- Balance multiple urgent requests and competing priorities while maintaining accurate follow-up and communication.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance – Required
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, supply chain, or material management.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and data analysis.
- Experience with purchase orders, supplier coordination, material tracking, and/or expediting.
- Strong problem-solving, investigation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple functional organizations.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing requirements, and resolve issues with limited direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or government programs.
- Experience working with engineering and production organizations.
- Experience with supplier performance, procurement metrics, material shortages, or delivery recovery.
- Experience preparing leadership presentations and operational reports.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP or procurement systems.
