POSITION OVERVIEW
- We are seeking experienced Material Buyers to support PAC-3 procurement execution by developing and administering purchase orders for specialized materials, equipment, and services.
- The Material Buyer will prepare bid packages, solicit and evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate pricing and delivery terms, and award purchase orders within established authority. This role will prioritize schedule and best value in support of the PAC-3 ramp while working closely with SEMAC, GSC, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and external suppliers.
- The Buyer will also be responsible for resolving procurement roadblocks affecting production, processing purchase order changes, maintaining accurate SAP data, tracking supplier commitments, and supporting delivery recovery actions.
- The hiring manager is seeking two Level 1 contractors and one Level 2 contractor.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and administer purchase orders for specialized materials, equipment, and services.
- Prepare comprehensive bid packages and solicit supplier proposals.
- Evaluate supplier proposals based on pricing, delivery, capabilities, and overall best value.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with suppliers.
- Award purchase orders within established authority and organizational procedures.
- Prioritize procurement activities based on production schedules and PAC-3 program requirements.
- Coordinate closely with SEMAC, GSC, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and suppliers.
- Identify and resolve procurement roadblocks impacting production and delivery schedules.
- Process purchase order changes and maintain accurate procurement records.Maintain accurate SAP data related to purchase orders and supplier activities.
- Track supplier commitments and proactively identify potential delivery risks.
- Support supplier delivery recovery actions and schedule improvement initiatives.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with established processes, procedures, and business controls.
- Analyze procurement and supplier information to support business and program objectives.
- Work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve professional and business goals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- 2+ years of experience in Procurement and/or working with clients, customers, or suppliers.
- 2+ years of professional experience using Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong procurement/commercial business acumen.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within established processes and procedures.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment while supporting tight schedules.
- Willingness to work a minimum of 2 days onsite and accommodate up to 4 days onsite as program requirements dictate.
