Catalent Pharma Solutions in Somerset, NJ is hiring for a Buyer / Planner for the Supply Chain team. This role is primarily responsible for indirect and direct material procurement, delivery, and confirmation of the delivery and release to support the Master Production Schedule. The Buyer / Planner requires a multifaceted skill set involving procurement, supply chain management, inventory control, supplier relationship management, and quality assurance.

This is a full-time 1st shift position: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

The Role

1. Ensure the supply of all materials to support production at the Somerset facility.
2. Identify and resolve issues regarding materials, supporting communication across departments.
3. Lead investigations related to material discrepancies and Trackwise events.
4. Generate and issue purchase orders (POs) to suppliers within JDE, ensuring timely approval.
5. Maintain trackers for order status, PO status, lead times, and receipts.
6. Source new suppliers, vendors, and distributors as needed.
7. Monitor and adjust open POs and supplier commitments.
8. Resolve 3-way match issues to ensure timely supplier payments.
9. Maintain inventory levels according to site policies, adjusting safety stock quarterly based on analysis.
10. Review excess and obsolete inventory and support reimbursement processes.
11. Process shipment materials and support documentation preparation.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors or Associates in life sciences, supply chain, or business preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role with a Bachelors degree; 4 years with an Associates or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent knowledge.
• At least 1 year of experience working with MRP systems.
• Strong procurement, vendor management, and negotiation skills preferred.
• APICS certification is a plus.
• Ability to interpret MRP reports and related documentation.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards or similar ERP systems, and pharmaceutical materials management.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
