POSITION SUMMARY

As a Buyer-Planner, you will play a pivotal role in our company's operations by managing procurement and inventory of items purchased for resale. Your expertise in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), procurement, and inventory optimization will be essential to ensure efficient supply chain management and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

  1. Inventory Optimization (35%) :
    • Design and implement stocking models considering demand forecasts, lead times, logistics, and supplier capabilities.
    • Regularly review and adjust stocking models based on demand changes to maintain optimal inventory levels.
    • Analyze inventory data and trends to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
  2. Procurement (30%) :
    • Translate demand forecasts into procurement plans to support sales targets.
    • Develop processes for consolidating inbound shipments to improve efficiency.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers for reliability, quality, and timeliness.
    • Coordinate with product management, demand planning, and procurement teams to align activities.
    • Monitor and mitigate supplier risks through proactive strategies.
    • Promote ethical sourcing and sustainability within the supply chain.
    • Ensure clear communication with the Product Management Team to enhance customer satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with Demand Planning on forecasting efforts.
    • Participate in meetings to share insights and address issues.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, inventory management, or supply chain roles, preferably in retail or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and data parameters.
  • Excellent analytical skills for interpreting complex data and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in inventory control techniques and management software.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
