Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft is seeking a Buyer Level II to coordinate and manage global procurement and tactical activity across assigned categories. You will handle requisitions, PO processing, expediting, and inventory optimization to support production and aftermarket parts.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, monitor supplier performance, and drive cost savings through data‑driven actions and process improvements. A strong negotiation and communication skillset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Operations required.
• 2–4 years of experience in the procurement field or equivalent.
• Effective negotiation, communication, decision making and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience in Pull/Kan‑ban, and Two‑Bin inventory planning systems and Bill of Materials.
• Functional knowledge of engineering documentation, manufacturing process control, and technical data.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to coordinate between disparate tasks.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Timely completion of scheduled work.
• Excellent and professional communication skills in all forms and formats (public speaking, team meetings, PowerPoint, memos, emails, charters, internal/external, etc.).
• Exceptional facilitation skills to bring a cross‑functional team together to accomplish tasks and goals.
• Good problem‑solving skills with knowledge of six‑sigma or lean office tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate purchase orders and requisitions for production and aftermarket parts.
• Optimize inventory using A/B/C purchasing methodology.
• Review and act on MRP exception messages (expedites, deferrals, cancellations).
• Timely place POs according to MRP recommendations.
• Coordinate transportation and logistics with supplier input to ensure cost‑effective delivery.
• Manage part shortages and expedites to ensure on‑time delivery for production builds.
• Escalate inventory and supplier risk to leadership as appropriate.
• Monitor project KPIs and coordinate new component releases with the supply base.
• Support model year launches.
• Investigate cost savings ideas and drive decisions with cross‑functional teams.
