Job summary

Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc is seeking a mid-level Buyer II to procure goods, materials, components, and services supporting production, engineering, and operations. You will ensure cost, quality, and delivery objectives are met while maintaining accurate purchasing data in the ERP/MRP system.

Work with Engineering, Planning, Quality, Finance, and Suppliers to resolve issues, support new projects, and drive procurement performance improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AA/BS preferred.
• 1–3 years purchasing in manufacturing environment.
• Experience using MRP/ERP for procurement activities.
• Ability to read/read and analyze MRP reports.
• Familiarity with inventory and production control techniques.
• Strong cost analysis and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read blueprints/technical documentation.
• Proven ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, components, and services to meet cost/quality/delivery goals.
• Communicate supply constraints to internal stakeholders.
• Interface between suppliers and internal departments on purchasing.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Suppliers to reduce material costs.
• Ensure PO due dates, pricing, and terms are accurate.
• Maintain cost, lead time, and supplier data in ERP/MRP.
• Support ERP/MRP development and improvements.
• Resolve procurement issues like shortages and supplier performance.
• Work with Finance on invoices and AP issues.
• Office-based work environment.
