Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking a hands‑on Buyer in Anaheim, CA, for a temp‑to‑hire role supporting fast‑moving construction, solar, electrical, BESS, and energy projects. You will source materials, create purchase orders in Dynamics 365, and coordinate with field teams to keep projects moving.

You will build purchasing reports, manage RFQs, and collaborate with finance to ensure accurate invoicing and timely deliveries in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands‑on Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience, including purchasing
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP
• 2+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, ideally in construction or project‑based work
• Proven ability to run multi‑vendor RFQs and evaluate bids beyond unit price
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase construction, solar, BESS, jobsite, and electrical materials for active projects
• Issue RFQs to multiple vendors, compare bids, and negotiate pricing and delivery schedules
• Create accurate purchase orders in Microsoft Dynamics 365 from BOMs, drawings, and project requirements

Job Summary

The Buyer is a temp-to-hire growth opportunity supporting fast-moving construction, solar, electrical, BESS, and energy project purchasing needs in the Anaheim, CA area. This role is ideal for a hands‑on procurement professional who enjoys sourcing materials, building accurate purchase orders, coordinating with field teams, and keeping critical projects moving. You will work closely with construction crews, project managers, engineers, finance, warehouse teams, and vendors to ensure materials are sourced, purchased, delivered, and tracked accurately. This is a collaborative, deadline‑driven environment with supportive leadership, strong cross‑functional teamwork, and excellent exposure to project‑based purchasing in the energy and utilities industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase construction, solar, electrical, BESS, jobsite, and electrical BOS materials to support active projects.
• Issue RFQs to multiple vendors, compare bids based on price, lead time, freight, terms, and overall value, and negotiate pricing and delivery schedules.
• Build accurate purchase orders in Microsoft Dynamics 365 using engineering BOMs, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Track open purchase orders, confirm acknowledgements, expedite critical items, and resolve shortages, damages, backorders, and delivery issues.
• Create Excel trackers and purchasing reports to monitor PO status, spend, lead times, budget alignment, and pricing history.
• Support Finance with three‑way match, invoice discrepancies, accruals, and required purchasing documentation.

Compensation and Benefits

• Compensation: $80,000 to $90,000 per year.
• Job type: Temp-to-hire.
• Location: Anaheim, CA.
• Work environment: Primarily office‑based, with occasional visits to jobsites and the warehouse.
• Some flexibility may be needed during critical project deliveries.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Source, quote, and purchase materials for active construction, solar, electrical, BESS, and project‑based work.
• Create and manage accurate purchase orders in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Coordinate daily with field crews, engineers, vendors, finance, project management, and warehouse teams.
• Build purchasing reports and trackers to monitor spend, lead times, PO status, and budget alignment.
• 2 to 3 years of hands‑on Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience, including purchasing, PO creation, and vendor management.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, conditional formulas, trackers, and reporting.
• 2 or more years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or buying, ideally supporting construction or project‑based work.
• Proven ability to run multi‑vendor RFQs and evaluate bids beyond unit price.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage many open purchase orders at once.
• Clear and responsive communication skills when working with field crews, engineers, vendors, finance, and project teams.
• Ability to thrive under daily deadlines, shifting priorities, urgent requests, and a fast‑paced construction environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience buying for solar, battery storage, electrical, or general construction projects.
• Familiarity with solar equipment, including modules, inverters, racking, BESS, and electrical BOS materials.
• Working knowledge of freight coordination, lead‑time planning, and supply chain disruptions.
• Exposure to tariff, country‑of‑origin, or tax credit documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
