AppleOne Employment Services seeks a Buyer for a contract/temporary role in Irvine, CA within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of purchasing experience in a regulated, quality-focused environment.

You will support purchasing, supplier coordination, inventory planning, and procurement documentation for materials, components, goods and services, with emphasis on accuracy and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in procurement.
• ISO 13485 quality systems knowledge preferred.
• Medical device industry background preferred.
• NetSuite experience is a plus; Arena experience is a plus.
• Self-motivated, organized, autonomous, and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, components, and services while ensuring timely availability of required supplies.
• Obtain supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and place purchase orders in NetSuite while maintaining accurate purchasing records.
• Coordinate with accounts payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and support new supplier setup in NetSuite.
• Coordinate engineering change order activities with suppliers, quality, and engineering teams.
• Manage supplier communication regarding pricing, delivery, quality issues, corrective actions, and inventory levels.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Buyer for a contract/temporary opportunity in Irvine, CA within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. This role is ideal for a procurement professional with 1 to 2 years of purchasing experience who is comfortable working in a regulated, quality-focused environment.

The Buyer will support purchasing, supplier coordination, inventory planning, and procurement documentation for materials, components, goods, and services. This is a strong opportunity to contribute to a collaborative team that values accuracy, supplier partnership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional communication. Candidates who enjoy working with quality, engineering, accounts payable, and supply chain teams will be well-positioned for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, components, and services while ensuring timely availability of required supplies.
• Obtain supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and place purchase orders in NetSuite while maintaining accurate purchasing records and files.
• Partner with accounts payable to resolve invoice discrepancies, confirm payment terms, and support new supplier setup in NetSuite.
• Coordinate engineering change order activities with suppliers, quality, and engineering teams.
• Manage supplier communication related to pricing, delivery, quality issues, corrective actions, nonconforming materials, and inventory levels.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay rate: $30 to $35 per hour.
• Job type: Contract/Temporary.
• Location: Irvine, CA.
• For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, AppleOne is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.

• At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement.
• Experience with Quality Systems standards and regulations ISO 13485 preferred.
• Medical device industry background preferred.
