This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional who is comfortable managing the purchasing process from initial market engagement through bid evaluation, negotiation and award recommendation.

The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of procurement activities within a fast-paced project environment.

Specific data center experience is not essential. Strong project procurement experience gained within engineering, construction, EPC, energy, advanced manufacturing or other major capital-project environments will be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage procurement activities for assigned project packages from initial enquiry through supplier selection and award.
  • Identify and engage appropriate suppliers and vendors based on project requirements.
  • Prepare and issue RFPs, RFQs and commercial bid packages to the market.
  • Coordinate supplier enquiries and ensure proposals are received in line with project schedules.
  • Review and compare supplier proposals, pricing, commercial terms and capabilities.
  • Prepare detailed bid comparisons and make recommendations regarding supplier awards.
  • Support and participate in commercial negotiations with suppliers and vendors.
  • Work closely with Procurement Managers, Contract Managers and wider project teams throughout the purchasing process.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation, records and commercial information.
  • Monitor procurement activities against project deadlines and proactively address potential issues.
  • Manage multiple procurement packages and competing priorities within a fast-moving environment.
  • Support purchasing decisions that deliver strong commercial value while meeting project and operational requirements.
  • Build effective working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Buyer, Procurement Specialist, Project Buyer or within a similar procurement position.
  • Demonstrable experience purchasing goods and/or services within a project-based environment.
  • Experience taking procurement packages to market and managing competitive tendering processes.
  • Experience issuing RFPs/RFQs, evaluating bids and comparing supplier pricing.
  • Ability to assess commercial proposals and provide clear supplier award recommendations.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive, hands-on and delivery-focused approach.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within procurement and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Flexibility and adaptability as project requirements and priorities evolve.
Industry Background

Relevant experience could come from industries including:

  • EPC / Major Projects
  • Data Centers
  • Energy
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Semiconductor / High-Tech Manufacturing
  • Chemicals
  • Other major capital-project environments

Previous data center experience is advantageous but not required. Candidates with strong, transferable project procurement experience from other sectors are encouraged to apply.

The Opportunity

This position offers the opportunity to join a growing project procurement environment with significant activity across major US projects.

We are looking for someone capable of taking ownership of a procurement package: understanding the requirement, approaching the appropriate market, obtaining and evaluating competitive proposals, supporting negotiations and providing a commercially sound recommendation for award.

The role will particularly suit someone who is practical, reliable, commercially aware and highly detail-oriented, and who enjoys working in a collaborative but demanding project environment.
