Job summary

Select Milk Producers in Texas is seeking a Butter Packaging Operator to ensure proper packaging and inventory control while maintaining product quality and sanitation. You will observe machine operations, monitor the line for jams, inspect and remove defective packages, and help train new personnel in GMP and safety practices.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with willingness to cross-train on churn operations in a USDA-ready facility.

Qualifications

• Must work in a safe, efficient manner and follow all safety procedures including the use of safety equipment.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot small problems and be able to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.
• A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

Responsibilities

• Butter Packaging Operators are responsible for proper packaging and inventory control of butter.
• Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in the packaging area.
• Monitor the production line for jams, pileups, or tape issues.
• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
• Change and seal unacceptable packages produced during the shift.
• Keep the packaging room and equipment clean and USDA inspection ready at all times.
• Aide in training of new personnel.
• Follow all safety, GMP, and work rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
