Job description

Main Duties

A Busser at WATR works effectively as part of the service team of the restaurant. The Busser will be primarily responsible for supporting the servers in servicing the guests and maintaining overall cleanliness of the restaurant.

General Duties
  • Prepare all tables before service, ensuring that place settings are appropriately arranged.
  • Ensure the appropriate table settings are used for different meal services throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, or dinner), including arranging mise en place items like salt, pepper, sauces, and sugar bowls.
  • Stock all stations at the beginning of the shift (plate ware, water and wine glasses, and silverware), and maintain their cleanliness and availability throughout service.
  • Maintain your designated section, ensuring water is promptly delivered upon guests’ arrival. Also, assist other sections as necessary.
  • Clear table of plates and remove silverware and glassware between each course. Subsequently, wipe down and reset tables for new guests.
  • Polish silverware and ensure proper storage according to established standards.
  • Complete assigned side work before and after service (refer to side work sheets for details).
  • Ensure that the bar area’s cabinets and shelves are fully stocked before service (glassware, silverware, and plates).
  • Remove all dirty linens from stations and ensure trash is emptied and the area is clean.
  • Practice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials.
  • Follow and adhere to all standards set forth by federal and state guidelines.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned by management.
  • Participate in daily shift meetings.
  • Adhere to strict uniform and grooming standards.
