SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Arlo Hotels, an independent lifestyle hotel, is actively seeking a dynamic Restaurant Runner.

As a runner, you contribute significantly to our success. The primary function of the runner is to deliver food from the kitchen to the correct guest at the table. You directly impact the level of service we offer, supporting the waitstaff and interacting with guests. You serve as the key liaison between the front of the house and the kitchen, and clear communication will ensure smooth service. You are selected for this role because of your experience, ability, and character. Together, we aim to provide a memorable dining experience for every guest.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

• Always treat guests with courtesy and respect in all situations.
• Display honesty and integrity.
• Motivate team members to serve others with enthusiasm and engagement.
• Build strong partnerships with internal teams and outside vendors.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Complete all opening duties as assigned.
• Properly stock all plates, silverware, and condiments according to restaurant standards.
• Report supply shortages to management.
• Deliver food accurately, effectively, and gracefully.
• Announce each item being delivered, e.g., “Harold’s Special Pork Chop”.
• Be prepared to answer guest questions and describe menu items and ingredients enthusiastically.
• Know all front-of-house and kitchen etiquette procedures.
• Coordinate with the chef regarding table status and course readiness.
• Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
• Ensure guests have everything they need before leaving the table.
• Interact courteously and professionally with guests, supervisors, and co-workers.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the service areas.
• Assist dishwashers in managing plates and glassware.
• Complete additional cleaning projects and end-of-night side-work as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to listen effectively.
