Job summary

North Beach Village Resort is seeking a friendly, customer-focused server for Village Cafe in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This full-/part-time position requires experience in food service, strong communication, and a commitment to safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include taking orders, delivering meals, coordinating with kitchen and front-of-house staff, and maintaining a welcoming dining environment. A flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve patrons with food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner.
• Provide information to help food and beverage selections.
• Present ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner.
• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers tables rapidly and accurately.
• Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff.
• Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies).
• Assist the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins.
• Serve welcome drinks and hors doeuvres, upon guests arrival.
• Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature).
• Check-in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed.
• Remove dirty dishes and utensils.
• Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
• Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
• Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs and observing the dining process.
• Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
• Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant and inviting patrons to return.
• Other duties may be assigned by the department head.
