We are seeking a Business Technology Advisor (BTA) to play a pivotal role in connecting business challenges to transformative technology solutions.
This is not a traditional sales or technical consultant position. The BTA is a strategic, hybrid role that partners closely with Account Executives to uncover client needs, design comprehensive solutions, and deliver measurable business outcomes across IT, Print, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Unified Communications, and Intelligent Automation.
The Managed IT Services Business Technology Advisor will:
- Strategic Client Engagement
- Lead executive-level discovery conversations to identify operational gaps and business challenges
- Align client needs with Visual Edge IT’s Total Technology portfolio
- Communicate business value and differentiation through case studies, benchmarks, and proof of concept initiatives
- Revenue Generation & Sales Partnership
- Collaborate with Account Executives to identify, develop, and close new opportunities
- Lead solution development in complex deals while maintaining focus on business value
- Provide strategic coaching and enablement to sales teams on technology positioning and messaging
- Solution Roadmapping & Client Success
- Design tailored, future-ready technology roadmaps aligned to long-term client objectives
- Work with technical teams to ensure feasibility, smooth implementation, and ongoing value realization
- Measure and communicate impact using Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI), and risk mitigation models
- Sales Enablement & Market Strategy
- Support high-value sales opportunities with strategic guidance on solution fit and negotiation
- Analyze market trends and competitive intelligence to inform positioning and go-to-market strategies
- Lead or support Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements to demonstrate solution effectiveness and build client confidence
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years in a consultative sales, sales engineering, or solution advisory role
- Experience in a B2B technology environment, ideally in Managed Services, Cloud, or MPS
- Proven ability to lead strategic discussions and develop compelling business cases
- Executive presence and confidence in leading C-suite discussions and facilitating strategic planning sessions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across both technical and business audiences
- Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership, constantly seeking new opportunities and building lasting client relationships
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with sales teams, handle objections, and influence buying decisions
