Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to analyze existing systems and business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and deliver strategic solutions. You will translate business requirements into effective designs and drive value across functions.

You will partner with stakeholders, document requirements, and ensure alignment with SDLC and Agile practices. The role emphasizes collaboration, testing, and implementation within a large logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in Information Technology environment as a Business Analyst.
• Proficient with system/application design and end user support.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to develop and document requirements and specifications.
• Ability to communicate in both technical and user-friendly language.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work as a team player.
• Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivated.
• Ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Develop requirements for process or system solutions spanning multiple business domains with stakeholders and functions; document details for the development team.
• Break down partner stories and requirements into backlog items and ensure clear understanding by developers.
• Maintain business process documentation and ensure traceability.
• Ensure all required documentation is complete and stored.
• Collaborate with analysts and scrum teams for consistent processes and docs.
• Provide functional design specifications for new development and enhancements.
• Work with designers to create interfaces meeting requirements and design standards.
• Develop and maintain functional test cases and automated tests.
• Provide acceptance criteria and facilitate user acceptance testing.
• Remediate defects from regression and load testing; document defects.
