Position Summary
The Business Systems Analyst improves how CRA operates by connecting people, processes, data, and technology. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology partners, leading business analysis, process improvement, Salesforce administration, enterprise system optimization, integrations, and solution design.
The successful candidate will partner with departmental leaders to improve workflows, automate business processes, support acquisitions and technology implementations, strengthen system adoption, and provide reliable data for decision-making. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, analytical, process-oriented, and comfortable translating operational needs into practical, scalable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve work across departments.
- Map workflows, identify bottlenecks, manual activities, redundancies, and process gaps, and develop practical improvement plans.
- Design scalable processes and technology-enabled workflows that improve efficiency, accuracy, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Document current-state and future-state processes, procedures, and system workflows to support consistency and scalability.
- Partner with department leaders to prioritize continuous improvement initiatives and measure results through KPIs, scorecards, and performance metrics.
Business Systems Administration & User Experience
- Serve as the primary Salesforce Administrator for Sales and Service Cloud, supporting configuration, optimization, governance, and user adoption.
- Configure and maintain objects, fields, page layouts, Flows, validation rules, reports, dashboards, approval processes, automation, profiles, roles, permission sets, and user access.
- Maintain platform health, data quality, security, and system performance; support releases, sandbox management, testing, and production deployments.
- Serve as a functional point of contact for operational platforms, including Rental Man and other enterprise technologies, helping resolve user issues and coordinate escalations with vendors or technology partners.
- Manage user access changes and develop practical training resources, including in-person training, job aids, process documentation, and video or Scribe-based guides.
- Identify opportunities to improve user experience, system utilization, and adoption through enhancements, training, and process redesign.
- Support business-system integration for acquisitions, including asset acquisitions and full-company integrations, from discovery through go-live and post-go-live stabilization.
- Coordinate onboarding and migration of key operational data, including asset and contract information, and help validate data completeness and accuracy.
- Partner with project leads and stakeholders to define implementation timelines, data requirements, responsibilities, dependencies, and success criteria for new technologies and system changes.
- Coordinate user onboarding and training, support go-live activities, track open issues, and drive follow-up through resolution.
- Help identify and resolve post-implementation issues while capturing lessons learned and improving repeatable integration and implementation processes.
Requirements Gathering, Solution Design & Testing
- Facilitate discovery sessions with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges, business objectives, and technology needs.
- Gather, document, prioritize, and translate functional and technical requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and system specifications.
- Collaborate with developers, administrators, vendors, and business leaders to design practical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and long-term business strategy.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by developing test plans, coordinating business participation, validating results, and supporting production readiness.
Reporting, Business Intelligence & KPI Development
- Build and maintain executive dashboards, operational scorecards, and KPI reporting that connect leadership to meaningful performance data.
- Partner with departments to define, develop, and implement KPIs that measure operational performance and process improvement.
- Analyze business performance trends, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and translate data into actionable insights.
- Help ensure leaders have timely, accurate, and reliable operational data to support decision-making.
- Act as a business liaison with external IT and technology partners when issues require CRA input, prioritization, approval, or escalation.
- Assist with troubleshooting business-impacting service tickets and coordinate resolution between employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Escalate security or access concerns through the appropriate internal channels and support consistent user-access practices.
- Support employee technology onboarding as needed, including coordination of laptops, equipment, setup requirements, and delivery.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Salesforce Administrator, Process Improvement Specialist, or in a similar systems/process role.
- Experience with business process mapping, requirements gathering, workflow design, and process improvement.
- Hands-on experience building and analyzing reports, dashboards, KPIs, or operational scorecards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with business data to identify trends and support decisions.
Preferred
- Salesforce Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud administration experience.
- Experience with ERP, rental-management, field-service, or other operational business systems; Rental Man experience is a plus.
- Experience supporting system implementations, integrations, data migrations, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or post-acquisition integration activities.
- Experience creating user training, process documentation, job aids, or digital training content.
- Experience in a service-based, logistics, rental, equipment, waste/recycling, or other asset-intensive industry is a plus.
