Job summary

Fortive in Everett, Washington, seeks a Business Systems Analyst to bridge business stakeholders with Commercial and Marketing Technology teams. You will translate needs into clear functional requirements and support delivery across multiple high-priority initiatives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives and translate them into clear business and functional requirements.
• Develop functional requirements with business and technical teams so proposed solutions are aligned with business needs and practical for delivery.
• Develop process flows, mockups, wireframes, user stories, and acceptance criteria; review them with stakeholders and confirm alignment before development begins.
• Maintain and refine the backlog based on priorities established by business owners, and participate actively in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and project planning.
• Draft and maintain project plans; track progress, dependencies, and risks; and follow through with delivery teams to maintain accountability for timing and quality.
• Coordinate several enhancement requests concurrently, with consistent focus on high-priority and high-visibility business initiatives, exercising independent judgment on prioritization trade-offs.
• Perform functional validation to confirm delivered solutions meet approved requirements before business-led user acceptance testing.
• Provide stakeholder training and maintain clear communication between business teams and CMT resources throughout delivery.
• Support production issues through functional assessment and light troubleshooting, engaging delivery leads or developers when technical resolution is required.
• Provide informal guidance and knowledge-sharing to junior analysts and offshore delivery resources on requirements quality and process standards.

The Business Systems Analyst serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and Commercial and Marketing Technology teams. This role is responsible for understanding business needs, translating them into clear and actionable functional requirements, and supporting successful delivery across multiple high-priority initiatives.

The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a full understanding of business analysis practices and a practical understanding of technology. They independently resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways, work effectively with stakeholders, solution architects, and delivery leads to bring clarity to complex and often ambiguous requirements, maintain alignment throughout delivery, and ensure completed solutions align to business and functional needs.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, with five or more years of relevant business systems analysis experience.
• Experience facilitating requirements workshops with business stakeholders, developers, solution architects, and delivery leads to clarify business needs, align on workflows, and resolve conflicting requirements.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear functional requirements, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, mockups, and test scenarios that are ready for development.
• Experience managing requirements traceability, scope changes, dependencies, and decisions throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Ability to identify and document relevant non-functional requirements, including security, privacy, performance, accessibility, and supportability.
• Experience performing functional validation, supporting business-led user acceptance testing, and assisting with production issue analysis and light troubleshooting in partnership with technical teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CRM) is preferred. Experience with Salesforce or another comparable CRM platform is also acceptable.
• Experience supporting authenticated customer or partner portals and account-based experiences that bring together CRM, web, product, entitlement, and support data from multiple systems.
• Working knowledge of system integrations, authentication, data flows, APIs, and application architecture sufficient to develop effective requirements and collaborate with technical teams. Familiarity with custom development and API implementation is a plus, but hands-on development is not required.
• Experience with Agile delivery, project and requirements management tools such as Asana or Jira, process-mapping tools, mockup or wireframing tools, and collaboration with development teams using GitHub.
• Strong ownership, communication, facilitation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, with the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively, navigate ambiguity, and drive issues toward resolution.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools to support and accelerate business systems analysis activities is a plus.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Work Arrangement

This individual-contributor role reports to the Manager of Commercial and Marketing Technology. The position is based in Everett, Washington, with onsite work according to Fluke work policy.
