Job summary

Prevail Recruiting is seeking a Business Solutions Specialist in Torrance, CA to translate unclear business needs into practical technology solutions. You will guide discovery, design, testing, and adoption of Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Power Platform solutions, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver value.

You’ll lead interviews, workshops, and requirements reviews, turning outcomes into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria while ensuring stakeholder alignment

Qualifications

• 5+ years in business analysis, business systems analysis, product analysis, or consulting delivery.
• Lead client-facing discovery and turn ambiguous requests into clear requirements and workable solutions.
• Experience with process analysis, user stories, acceptance criteria, gap analysis, and traceability; Agile or hybrid delivery.
• Hands-on with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online; working knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot, and Teams.
• Technical fluency to work with apps, data, APIs, integrations, security, and automation.
• Experience supporting testing, training, and adoption.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a Business Solutions Specialist who can sit down with stakeholders, understand an unclear business need, and help turn it into a practical technology solution. This role combines client-facing business analysis with hands-on involvement in digital modernization, Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, data, workflow automation, and AI initiatives.

You will guide work from discovery and requirements through solution design, testing, adoption, and support. Success requires strong technical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to keep business and delivery teams aligned.

What you’ll do

• Lead stakeholder interviews, discovery workshops, process walkthroughs, and requirements reviews.
• Ask thoughtful follow-up questions to uncover the underlying problem, define desired outcomes, and evaluate solution options.
• Analyze current workflows, applications, data flows, integrations, user permissions, reporting needs, and operational constraints.
• Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, functional requirements, data mappings, and other materials that technical teams can act on.
• Partner with developers, architects, UX, security, and project teams to shape solutions and resolve questions during implementation.
• Support backlog refinement, prioritization, demonstrations, release planning, and stakeholder approvals.
• Develop test scenarios, coordinate user acceptance testing, track defects, and confirm that delivered solutions meet approved requirements.
• Create user guides and training materials, and support rollout, adoption, and transition to ongoing support.

What we’re looking for

• At least 5 years of experience in business analysis, business systems analysis, product analysis, or consulting delivery.
• Proven ability to lead client-facing discovery and turn ambiguous requests into clear requirements and workable solutions.
• Strong experience with process analysis, user stories, acceptance criteria, gap analysis, requirements traceability, and Agile or hybrid delivery.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online, plus working knowledge of tools such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot, and Microsoft Teams.
• Technical fluency to work effectively with teams responsible for applications, data, APIs, integrations, security, and automation.
• Experience supporting functional testing, UAT, training, and solution adoption.
• Strong facilitation, writing, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience with regulated organizations, SharePoint modernization, Power Platform solutions, dashboards, AI use-case discovery, SQL, Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence is a plus.
