Job summary

Red Sun Technology is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the client’s Application Services team in a long-term engagement. The role requires hands-on, self-motivated professionals with strong critical-thinking, technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills to work across multiple application projects and upgrades.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional Business Analyst experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing business processes to identify opportunities for process improvement and re-engineering.
• Gather, document, analyze, and validate business and functional requirements.
• Develop business requirements, use cases, workflows, process documentation, and test scripts.
• Work with developers and technical teams to translate business requirements into application solutions.
• Participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Organize and facilitate system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Validate application functionality against approved business requirements.
• Support application upgrades, maintenance activities, enhancements, and new implementations.
• Provide second- and third-level support for production application incidents.
• Troubleshoot application issues with internal technical teams and external vendors.
• Track reported issues through investigation, resolution, validation, and closure.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects and internal initiatives.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and work within Agile delivery methodologies.
• Maintain project requirements, defects, test cases, and related documentation within Azure DevOps.
• Develop business process and workflow diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, vendors, testers, and project leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
• Experience conducting business process analysis and process re-engineering.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience creating use cases, workflows, process documentation, and test scripts.
• Experience facilitating application testing and User Acceptance Testing.
• Experience supporting production applications and troubleshooting reported issues.
• Experience working directly with software developers and technical teams.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Microsoft Visio.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Services.
• Experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, upgrades, and application initiatives simultaneously.
• Must be able to work onsite at least two days per week in Michigan.
• Experience supporting enterprise application environments.
• Experience with enterprise CRM platforms.
• Salesforce experience is strongly preferred.
• Previous public-sector, county, municipal, or other government IT experience.
• Experience working with external application vendors.
• Experience supporting long-term application modernization, upgrades, and enhancements.
