The Division of Student Success at the University collaborates to deliver targeted services that enhance recruitment, retention, and graduation of a diverse student population. The division includes offices such as University Advising, New Student Transitions & First Year Experience, Academic Support Programs, and Educational Opportunity Programs (e.g., TRiO). This role supports the division by managing financial, budgetary, and human resources operations, ensuring policy compliance and efficient processing of transactions.
Position Summary
This Business Services Coordinator position manages financial, budgetary, and human resource operations across the Division of Student Success. It serves as one of the division’s HR liaisons, assists with payroll, onboarding, and personnel management, and implements systems to streamline business operations. The role also facilitates communication between departments and the business team to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial and HR systems such as Banner HR, Banner Finance, Chrome River, SpartanMart, SpartanTalent, and Anaplan.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams, with the ability to navigate and utilize these tools for financial and operational tasks.
Alternate Option

Recruitment range: $43,329 - $48,809
Work Details

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile funds; interpret and advise Division personnel on financial policies, rules, and regulations.
- Serve as liaison for division staff on expenditures, processes, and procedures; ensure budgets are available for expenditures and assist in budget planning; input non-state budgets into Anaplan; prepare budget transfers and journal vouchers; collaborate with Budget Officer on Other Than Personnel expenditures.
- Initiate and process accounts payable actions; coordinate travel expenses and TRV files for the Division; assist and train departments in processing personnel actions or payroll forms; maintain financial records and reports.
Other Key Activities
- Manage and coordinate purchasing activities; serve as Pcard coordinator; advise on purchasing processes; ensure budget availability; input contracts and purchasing requests into SpartanMart.
- Initiate and maintain personnel paperwork and records; disseminate HR policies; serve as SHRA HR liaison; coordinate hiring for graduate assistants; work with Business Officer on temporary and student hiring; review and record student timesheets; reconcile monthly leave reports.
- Provide administrative support to the Vice Provost; calendar management, meeting coordination, document preparation, and logistical tasks; coordinate scheduling for the division; act as a point of contact for administrative inquiries; assist with correspondence, record-keeping, and reports; compose written materials as needed.

- Financial Management: reconcile expenditures, monitor accounts, and possibly manage budgets with limited funds; compile financial data for reporting.

- Communication: develop/edit documents and reports spanning multiple areas; respond to non-routine inquiries.
- Planning and Organizing Work/Supervision: plan activities, evaluate workflow, train/supervise student workers.
