Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Business Performance Advisor in Houston to shape performance metrics, forecast accuracy, and earnings predictability. You will analyze data, design indicators, and advise leadership on decisions that improve gross margins and strategic outcomes.

The role emphasizes data-driven insights, cross-functional collaboration, and shaping the monthly close process. You will develop budgeting and reporting models, transform data from diverse systems, and present findings

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, Mathematics, or related quantitative field or 10+ years of hands-on experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to translate complex data sets into actionable insights and drive decisions.
• Proven track record delivering on deadlines with quality results.
• 7+ years of relevant data and analytics experience.
• Knowledge of retail electricity markets, ISO structures, pricing, and forecasting preferred.
• Self-motivated, curious, and able to influence a data-driven team.
• Strong judgment and ability to synthesize large datasets for stakeholders.
• Advanced Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint) and Power BI; SQL and Python experience.
• This role supports hybrid work with 3 days in office; travel up to 5% domestically; comply with ENGIE policies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key link across Portfolio Management, Settlements, Accounting and FP&A for monthly close.
• Analyze close data to explain monthly results and reduce margin variance.
• Develop budgeting, forecasting, and reporting models for KPIs and drivers.
• Assess and recommend operational and performance indicators to improve the control framework.
• Transform data from multiple systems into actionable insights.
• Maintain reporting for Group, GBU, B2B Supply Leadership and departments.
• Create management-ready presentations for senior leadership.
• Review settlements, market data, costing models, and hedging to reduce forecast variance.
• Investigate variances in energy usage to improve forecast accuracy and reduce cost exposure.
• Collaborate across Sales, Load Forecasting, Pricing, Portfolio Management, Operations, Billing, Settlements, Accounting, Finance, and Credit.
